Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Festival 2026 takes place in the Ikebukuro area from October 30 through November 1. One of Japan’s largest Halloween cosplay events, it includes an adults-only Friday-night program, large-scale cosplay activities, stage events, a street parade and programs for general visitors.

Cosplay parade on October 31

The Ikehalo Cosplay Parade 2026 is scheduled to start at 2:20 p.m. on October 31, with around 400 cosplayers walking through the Ikebukuro area, including Sunshine 60 Street and the area around Tokyo Tatemono Brillia HALL.

Parade participation requires an event ticket and a separate advance application. The official English rules page states that applicants must already have a ticket for Ikehalo 2026 and that only selected applicants can join.

A children’s cosplay ticket for elementary-school-age participants and younger is ¥500 per day. Preschool children are free, and eligible elementary-school children who live in Toshima City may participate free with the required proof of identity. Conditions vary by ticket type.

Registration and changing rooms

For October 31 and November 1, registration is at Sunshine City World Import Mart Building 4F. Changing rooms and luggage storage are available to eligible ticket holders, but opening times and access conditions depend on the ticket category.

Participation rules

The festival takes place in public areas of Ikebukuro that are also used by residents, shoppers and people who are not attending the event. The official rules ask participants to avoid obstructing public traffic, use designated changing areas, ask permission before taking photos, and follow the rules for individual venues and activities.

Access

Event locations are spread across the east side of Ikebukuro, including Sunshine City, Naka-Ikebukuro Park, Sunshine 60 Street and Higashi-Ikebukuro Central Park. Check the official event map before arriving because reception and activity locations vary.
